My name is Terri and amongst other things I own and run Cornwall
HypnoBirthing. I live in Newquay, Cornwall with my partner, my daughter and 2 cats! I have been working in Education for the past 17 years and have a vast array of experience working with adults, young people and babies. My original background was in the Childcare sector but I moved across to the Education sector in 2001.
I will be taking you through session 3 of the antenatal course where we will look in more detail at breathing for labour and birth, your birth preferences, informed decision making, supporting natural onset of labour, relaxation and breast feeding. This will be a wonderfully relaxed session which will end with a guided relaxation.
In 2012 I gave birth to my beautiful daughter using HypnoBirthing. I had such a wonderful, positive and empowering birthing experience, that it inspired me to train as a HypnoBirthing practitioner myself. I chose the Marie Mongan method of HypnoBirthing because I was a ‘tried and tested’ convert but also because it is the original and only method of HypnoBirthing that has scientific, evidence based research behind it. It is recognised and accredited by the Royal College of Midwives (RCM) and is featured amongst their recommended Childbirth Education Courses.
Since qualifying as a HypnoBirthing Practitoner I have also trained and qualified as a Clinical Hypnotherapist, and a professional Doula. To support me in my practice I also have a BSc (Hons) in Psychology, Childhood and Youth Studies. Throughout my business and professional practice I work to and adhere to the National Occupational Standards and I hold full, comprehensive insurance through Holistic Insurance Services.
I have been successfully teaching the HypnoBirthing course for 4.5 years and I love every minute of it. I am so passionate about what I do and I love that I can be just a small part of peoples pregnancy and birthing journeys.
The feeling of confidence and empowerment that couples get from taking control of the
ir birth is priceless. Watching a woman learn to trust in her body, letting go of her fears, and building on her belief in her ability to accomplish anything she puts her mind to is what makes my job so rewarding.
