The 4 session course will run on 4 Friday Evenings (15th, 22nd and 29th June and 6th July) at 7-9.30pm.
Sessions 1 and 2 will be run by 2 very experienced Midwives, Allison Gentle and Lizzie Anstey, who work locally in community and hospital settings, and will cover all of your normal antenatal education, from what to pack in your bag, to the first 24 hours with your baby, and everything in between. (With a dedicated ‘birth room’ so you can really start to imagine what your labour might be like).
Session 3 will be with the fantastic Terri from Cornwall Hypnobirthing, she will help you in more detail with breathing for labour and birth, your birth preferences, informed decision making, relaxation and breast feeding.
Session 4 will be run by Dad and Mum duo, Sam and Laura Cullen. Laura is a specialist Women’s Health Physiotherapist so will take you through all of the things that people often say ‘I wish someone had told me’, as well as postpartum care. While Sam guides a general ‘partner’ chat about relationship changes, bonding with the new baby and ways to help Mum. Finally we will have some fun altogether with 6 dollies and some ‘baby care’ tasks.
We have created the antenatal course guided by feedback from clients as to what they would find helpful, we have tried to make sure the sessions are concise, fun, informative and above all we have tried to keep the cost more affordable.
The total course will run at an initial introductory rate of £150 per couple and spaces are limited to 6 couples. This includes refreshments and cake at each of the sessions, a goody bag and an information pack to take home.
